Very nice video.

I went to high school with the producer of the movie The Mighty Quinn with Robin Williams.

Yeah, it grows on you. I had a hard time deciding on this one, but I'm glad now I did. I also liked Dylan's original Basement Tapes version of the song (all his other versions are shit), but I couldn't find a good video to go with it. The only one I could find was by some kid, I think, messing with Microsoft Paint.

Anyway, this one is more fitting for a Yule video anyway, with the recurring sun and stuff, and the song suits it too. Well, to me it does. Glad you liked it.

Amy Winehouse did a good live version with a couple of other people, but they fucked up the lyrics. Of course, so did Manfred Mann. Where they couldn't understand Dylan's words on the Basement Tapes, they substituted their own. They made it work though.

By the way, I didn't know until after I posted this, but Klaus Voorman was a member of this band, playing bass. That's him prominently featured from roughly 1:07 to 1:18 or thereabouts, wearing the whitish fur.

Bob Dylan is like that movie from two years ago. If you see his concert in person, he does no vocalizing with the audience. He plays and is off the stage. Not one word spoken. he doesn't even do the insipid, "Hello Louisville."

Good on Dylan. He's obviously a no-nonsense type of performer, and he's probably like that in his regular everyday life as well. What I hate even worse than the "hello wherever" bullshit is when they co-opt the audience into singing along. If I wanted to pay fifty to a hundred plus dollars to hear the audience sing I'd just go to some redneck bar and put ten dollars in the jukebox and buy a couple of rounds for the house.

If you ever see Dylan in an interview, it seems like when he's answering question he's almost half-singing them. The man might be possessed by an honest-to-gods muse, if anybody is.

Dylan went to a Zionist summer camp, with my cousin when he was a teen.
