I've been testing Google's new browser, Chrome, which on this date was officially released from Beta stage. So far, so good. It loads pages just as fast as Firefox, but even better, so far it seems to play YouTube videos much better. I've tested three so far, and no stopping or pausing. Not even once. On Firefox, it always seems to stop once, sometimes twice, sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes for as much as half a minute.
I'll run a few more tests on a few more videos, and if this continues and all else goes well, Chrome might well become my browser of choice. I encourage everyone to download it and give it a shot.
By the way, I've had Firefox running in the background the whole time. Who knows, it might run even better if I shut it down while I'm on Chrome.

It's not available yet on MAC. I'll try it when MAC version is available.
Are you still using Juno? I hear its the worst browser out there for ads. The only thing wrong with Chrome is that if you x out of a page that you open on a separate page, it will x you out of everything. Otherwise, it's pretty good, especially for YouTube.
There's a lot of memory leak with Firefox. It will open up progressively larger chunks of your computer memory as needed to load a page. But then, it doesn't give those chunks back when the browser doesn't need that much memory to run. Ultimately, Firefox causes other programs and tasks to run slower, because Firefox is eating up all the available memory.
Especially if you've installed all the necessary add ons to Firefox to make it as functional as MSIE.
Yeah, I've definitely noticed some problems with it, but I didn't realize it was that cumbersome. Well, in a way I did, but I just didn't know why. That explains it. I know it's hell to load the first time. It seems to take forever, but after that first time, if I get off and go back on it ain't that bad, except if you try to get right back on after getting off. It will always say something like Firefox is still running and you need to close the program. You usually have to wait about five minutes or so.
Otherwise I haven't noticed many problems with it, but then again, I rarely have more than two pages going at the same time. I usually hit the back arrow to the homepage, and then go to another page through the bookmarks. It isn't as hard on the memory that way.
By the way, Beamish, if you aren't satisfied with your new music player, I ran across another one you might want to check out. It's called Dizzler. You should be able to Google it. It's a jukebox you can put on your sidebar and you can pick the default song you want to put at the top and change it whenever you want.
Playlist is like that too. You can set it to shuffle, or rearrange specific sequences. You can also make multiple playlists and switch them out as desired.
I've got mine in alphabetical order, by artist.
Imagine the chaos if people began spelling out secret messages like that.

You can compare the difference of memory usage between Chrome and Firefox in Windows by hitting Ctrl-Alt-Delete, clicking on the "Processes" tab, then on "Mem Usage" to sort highest to lowest.
See how much juice each of your browser are sucking out of your computer's processing power.
