Miley Cyrus-Whosesome Innocence As A Brand Name

The most obscene thing about Miley Cyrus of Disney's Hannah Montana isn't this article from Vanity Fair, or the photo above of Miley in what has been described as a suggestive pose with her father Billy Ray Cyrus, or any of the other photos from the article-including the one where she is posing in bright red lipstick, topless, her torso covered with a sheet.

No, the most obscene thing about Miley Cyrus is that the very people who are screaming bloody murder about how she has tarnished her image are the very same people who will gladly shell out thousands of dollars for their kids to go to see one of her concerts.

Noe THAT is fucking obscene.

Or how about the fact that Disney-also up in arms at what they ironically complain is the "exploitation" of their undoubtedly biggest star-seems to see no problem with their own brand of exploitation.

While we're on the subject of stupid parents and exploitation, doesn't it take kind of a sick mind to infer some kind of sexual meaning in the photo above? Is this really something people should be so up in arms about that they stage a CD burn, as some are calling for? I mean, what's the point, is she supposed to be having her arm up against his cock or something? Do you think he's looking off in the distance trying to act casual because he's got a great big old hard-on? Do you think you see a wet spot between her legs? What the fuck is wrong with you people?

Is it any fucking wonder that most child stars generally turn out to be basket cases by the time they hit their thirties?

I am glad my daughter doesn't care for "Hanna Montana" or any other gossip celebrity model crap. I'd hate to see her hang around with kids with those kinds of parents.

Hopefully she knows more about birth control than Jamie Lynn Spears.

well said brother. I almost got sucked into the whole thing too. I do think Cyrus has been sexualized but the reaction to the photo (and perhaps the photos themselves) are the result of the sexualization of children our society started long before their was a Hannah Montana

I think it's a shame. People prop these kids like Miley Cyrus up to be some kind of symbol, something they want to encourage their own kids to aspire to, but the minute they do the slightest thing that doesn't meet their seal of approval, all of a sudden they're ready to throw her to the wolves. She's just a fucking kid, for God's sake. How the hell would they feel if their own kids were treated this shitty?

The television shows here have been having a ball making fun of the stupid response this is getting over there. The last joke was something like, "Oh no! Nude shoulders! Oooooh-la la!"

Yeah, I can imagine. It's really pretty fucking embarrassing. It's bad enough that a kid is turned into a media goddess, and parents shell out thousands of dollars so their kids can go to her concerts, and then this. I think Americans are collectively suffering from a national case of MPD.

Well, France definitely has it's manufactured pop princesses too, but it's hard in a country that has naked statues in every park and naked ads all over the place just what's so shocking about bare shoulders. I'm sort of glad I wasn't here during the outcry over Janet Jackson's nipple.
